My name is Er Thompson, I'm out in California, it's October, eighth thousand and twenty one just finishing up another week of work going in to the weekend and as I was reflecting on what should I talk about on this podcast? Something kept coming to my mind, the Gospel. Every Christian has the same commission. We have different individual callings depending upon our giftings, but in Matthew, two twenty eight, sixteen through twenty. This is from the NIV version. It says in verse. Sixteen then the eleven disciples because Judas had hung himself. The love disciples went to Galilee to the mountain, where Jesus had told him to go and when they saw him, they worshipped him and some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said all authority in Heaven on earth. Has Been Given to me, therefore, this is for you. This is for me. This is, for the church, therefore go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the father, the son and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything. I have commanded, you and surely I am with you to the very end of the age. So the commission is, we are to share the Gospel and make disciples in First John. He was reminding the Church do not love the world nor the things in the world. If any one loves the world. The love of the father is not in him for all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life is not from the father, but is from the world. The world is passing away and also its loss, but the one who does the will of God continues to live for ever. I write political articles during the week and, as you can imagine, being immersed in politics and writing what this apostate godless leftest Marxist leadership team, which I'm praying for their salvation, but I'm praying that they fail, but in the Anne I'm praying for God's will to be done because we don't know God lifts up government. So God put these people in power. Is it a judgment on us? Is it to get us to pray more? So I don't know I'm praying for their salvation, but I am a praying against anything that is immoral and their policies. So the Gospel has to be shared in season out of season. Peter says it commands it's an Apostolic Command that we must be prepared to give an answer for the hope that lies with an as the gospel with gentleness kindness. You know and like Paul said, in Corinthians, not angry or or you know obnoxious, because in it's co it's a clashing symbol, it's being prepared to give an answer. So what that means is, if not, let me replace that as we live Christian lives and pray for opportunities, and we know the Gospel and we're living in a way that would draw people to Christ and lift Jesus up. He will draw people unto himself and then we will see the supernatural work of God in saving people. We cannot save people with our wise words or with our presentation. It's the word of God, that's living in powerful. It's not our ability to say the right thing that it's the power of God. So I'm going to do in this podcast as we're going to go over what does it mean to be a Christian, the Gospel? What is the Gospel? If you can't explain to somebody who God is? Who Man is the sin problem the man has which creates separation from a holy God and then the redeeming work of Christ to remedy that problem? If you can't explain that, then then, what do you do then you're going to end up giving them like some pseudo fake churches? Do they give the half the gospel come to Jesus and he'll? Make you happy? Come to Jesus everything will be fine, oh you don't have to repent of your sins and you can live the way you're living but come to Jesus. So let's go over what it means to be a Christian, I'm getting this from Grace Church, dot, org get it right. You can get it right after a website, but they do a real good job here about breaking it down in a simple way that you can memorize, but I mean memorize, you, the verses, know the verses and and and how they fit into the Gospel Message and then let the Holy Spirit recall those verses. When people are in your path, when you're sharing the love of God with people, some people are called to go out in stry witness some people are more quiet, but there's people at work that watch them and God can use whoever, whenever to quicken the soul, the spirit of a dead person to call out for Christ- and we are to be prepared to give an answer- let's go through this first thing is in the Gospel- is to understand that God is sovereign creature. God is a sovereign crater. There's no evolution over billions of years Baba says we were created by a personal God, and why will we? Why were recreated to love serve and enjoy endless fellowship with him? We are. We are adopted into the child of God. We become children of God through the Cross, and then we collectively are the bride of Christ and we get to enjoy endless fellowship with God forever in Jesus Christ in the new heaven in the new earth, when it's all said and done, but in the meantime, we're here on earth, not loving the world but loving Christ and being a light in darkness. So the first thing we have to understand is: God is sovereign and the Creator, the only God there shall never be another God. Besides him, the New Testament reveals that Jesus himself is the one who created everything. So you have you have the God head, you have the father, you have the sun and you have the Holy Spirit. The God had, one God, three distinct personalities for the purpose of accomplishing the will of God. The Holy Spirit can vex us to pursue and to need and to worship. Jesus Jesus offers salvation through his own spilt blood, on the cross and because of us being in Christ, Hebrews calls it the propitiation of our sins. We have a covering because of Jesus. We then can enter into the father's presence and call him Aba an enduring term at for intimacy with our creator. So John won three says that all things came into being through him, that's Jesus, and apart from him, nothing came into being that has come into being. All things were created through Jesus Christ, Jesus was not created, Jesus has always existed and he created all things and every thing that has ever been created was created through the will and the power of Jesus Christ cautions one sixteen says for by him Jesus all things were created both in the Heavens on heavens, and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions, or rulers or authorities. All things have come have have been created through him and for him, so God a sovereign crater Jesus Christ is part of the God. Had everything was created by God through Jesus Christ and he then owns and rules everything some one o three. Nineteen, the Lord has established His throne in the heavens and his sovereignty rules over everything. This means that he has authority over our lives and we o am, Oh God, absolute allegiance, obedience and worship. So God is a sovereign creator. Everything was created through Jesus Christ and for him. Thus he owns and rules. Everything God is holy. God is absolutely and perfectly holy. These are the angels flying around the Throne Holy Holy Holy as the Lord of hosts. The whole Earth is full of his glory. Therefore, we cannot commit or approve of Eble. He cannot, God doesn't make evil, God doesn't commit people or approve of Evil James One three, let no one say when he's tempted, I'm being tempted by God, for God cannot be tempted by evil and he himself doesn't tempt anyone. God Requires Holiness from us because it is written. You shall be holy. This is God, Hey people that I've created all humanity. You shall be holy for. I am holy, so God a sovereign crater. Everything was created for and by Jesus Christ. God Is Holy, so God is perfect. The angels are saying Holy, Only Holy Twenty four hours a day falling before the throne. God does not commit or approve of evil because he's holy and then God says I'm holy. I've created you, so you should be holy too. That sounds like we have a problem. Don't we because man is simple, so the Gospel God is sovereign Goddess Holy, but man as sinful coin to scriptures, every one is guilty of sin. There is no man that does not sin. First. First King's aid, forty six when they sent against you, for there is no man who does not sin, and you are angry with them and tile deliver them to an enemy so that they take them away captive to the land of the enemy far off or near. This is the Gospel. This isn't to make people. This isn't a feel good presentation, there's love in this, but but we have to the whole Gospel. Is God, as sovereign God is holy? Man is simple and because of sin he then, because of justice. He is life should lead to death because he can't be holy, so God, Hollins and justice demands that all sin be punished by eternal death, the equil eighteen, four behold all souls are mine. They died, they died physically, but the law was not established and they had fellowship, but with the law. Now the problem is, is we know, we know what we shouldn't do and we do it anyway. You shall be saved even though God's justice, the man's death for sin. His love is provided a saviour who paid the penalty and died for sinners. First Peter Three. Christ's death satisfied the demands of God's Justice and Christ. Perfect life satisfied the demands of God's holiness, Second Corinthians, five, twenty one. He Made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him is pretty exciting in it. That is a sufficiency of the Cross, the world hates the cross. The Bibo says that the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but is the power of God on the salvation for those who are being saved. This comes up a lot and I want to interject something right here. Jesus said not to cast pearls his pearls before swines, and what this means is this all a humanity is born into Adam. We're born with the sinful nature, so we don't what God and then, as God, quickens us, we go from being dead to Wanning God and then the people, then he will use Christians. He'll use circumstances to get people to someone who can present the Gospel, but there's people in the world that are never going to believe and unfortunately, sometimes they could be family members. They could be co workers. They could be your favorite TV personality. It doesn't do any good if somebody is on twitter or facebook or at work or across a table from you if they want to stop on the cross if they want to. If they want to just vomit all over you spiritually, then they're, not God's, not calling them necessarily. You have to use your own discernment. So I'm not saying this is a rule. I saying there's times in your walk that people who are not called by God, you if you try to present the Gospel, the God is sovereign and creator. They got US holy. The manfullest man is sinful and that Sin Demands Death, a penalty, and but Jesus is Lord and Jesus died on the Cross and because of that, if we are in Christ, then we have forgiveness of sins. They can't understand that, and so you could in effect be giving them the gospel of the pearls for them to stop on. So just keep that in mind, if God hasn't quickened somebody to want to be open to the Gospel now they may you'll have some people that are that are hard, but they're still honestly or you can feel, and you can feel like they are truly, maybe pushing you to see if, if you can give them hope, but the hope has to come from God. The last thing in the Gospel Message: It's a character of a saving faith. True faith is always accompanied by repentance from sin. Repentance is agreeing with God that you are sinful, confessing your sins to him and making a conscious decision to turn from Sim Luke Thirteen three. I tell you no, but unless you repent you all likewise perish so Jesus was saying you: If you don't repent you'll. Also, perish like the unbelievers or in L, first ATONIAN, one nine, for they themselves report about us what kind of a reception we had with you and how you turn to God from idols. Here's the repentance. You turn from idols and serve the living and true God. Jesus had come to me all. Who are weary and happy late, and I will give you rest take my yoke upon you and learn for me. I, for I am gentle in humble and heart and you will find rest for your souls. My Yoke is easy and my burden is light, so you pursue God, you pursue Jesus, so he can put. He can take the weight of the world off of you and help your light and help your burden be light. John, seventeen three. This is eternal life that you may that that they may know you. This is Jesus talking to the father. This is eternal life that they may know you the only true God and Jesus Christ. Hobe you've sent Nina obey. We have to obey God. By this we know we have come to known him. If we keep his commandments, it's not enough to have to believe certain facts about Jesus Christ, even Satan in the demons believe in the one true God says, and James Two nineteen. You believe that God is one you do well, but the demons do also, and they shudder to and saving faith, always resla result in obedience pagens to ten, for we are his workmanship created in Christ, Jesus for good works, which God prepared, but beforehand, so that we would walk in them. So the Gospel God is sovereign Creator, God is holy. Man is simple. Sin Demands a penalty which is death, but Jesus is Lord and Saviour, and if we believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose, then if we confess with their mouths, then that Jesus is Lord. He is, he is the authority of the entire universe, and because, if you, because you believe in your heart to God, raise him from the dead, you shall be safe. Trust in Christ make him Lord. Then your character changes you repent of your sins and then the manifestation of your life that you've been born again from above. Is it you're? Now, in a world that you don't want to be entangled in, but you want to be light in the darkness and you want to love the church and then be prepared to give an answer for the hope to lies within you and then upon either the rapture or death. You will be translated into your final body. Your spare body of we will spend eternity with our savior. That's the Gospel, some people say well, I I confess with my mouth. I went forward to crusade, but I don't want to quit having sex with my girlfriend or boyfriend. I don't want to give up my pot. I don't want to quit watching my my nasty movies. God grace covers everything. Grace Grays Grace! That's on what it says again, if agents to ten for where we are his workmanship created in Christ, Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, so that we might walk in them there has to be. You can live your life, you we're not all billy grahams we're not all on the corners preaching, but the Bible says: Go out and beat people up now. It says: Go out and be prepared to give an answer. Tell People the Gospel be involved in the church, praying giving serving as we wait for like titus two thirteen.
