We're going to get to genesis twenty two today, where Abraham is asked to sacrifice his son, and I'm going to break that down for you. So thank you for listening. As we go through this podcast, I pray that you are minister to from the Holy Spirit, because all I am is just to die in California. Been Walking with the Lord a long time and Love God's word. But the Nice thing is is that the word of God, it's alive and will get to our Hebrews for twelve verse here in a minute. But Psalm five, it's a it's a psalm that was written or the flutes. It says, a psalm from David. And make this be a prayer that you would do for that you would pray to the Lord, that you would exalt a lord with give ear to my words, oh Lord, consider my sighing, consider my my trials. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray in the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice in the morning. I lay my request down before you and I wait and expectation. You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil. With you, the wicked cannot dwell, the arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You hate all who do wrong. You destroy those who tell lies, bloodthirsty and deceitful men the Lord abhors. But I, by your great mercy, will come into your house and reverence. I will bow down towards your Holy Temple. Leave me, O Lord, in the your righteousness, because of my enemies, make straight your way before me. Not a word from their mouth can be trusted. Their heart is filled with destruction, their throat is an open grave and with their tongue, they speak deceit. Declare them guilty, O Lord. Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins where they have rebelled against you. But let all who take refuge in you be glad. Let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. For Surely, O Lord, you bless the Righteous. You surround them with your favor as with the shield. Amen. How can we be encouraged by that? Because God, through us, Holy Spirit, spoke through forty authors who wrote down the word of God over fifteen hundred years on three different continents. How is that possible? How can you have a book that is in agreement, written from shepherds all the way up to kings, over fifteen hundred years? How is that possible? Because God wrote it, and Hebrews four eleventh through fourteen says this. Let us therefore let Christians, let those who believe, make every effort to enter into that rest the believers have in Christ so that no one will perish by following the previous example or the examples of people's Disobei ediens verse twelve, for the Word of God is alive and it's active. It's sharper than any double edged sword. It penetrates even to even to the dividing of the soul and spirit joints. And Morrow the judges, the word of God judges our thoughts and attitudes, of our hearts. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before his eyes, to whom we must give an account. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus, the Son of God, let us be let us hold firmly to the faith that we profess. This world is going crazier because we're seeing it because of technology, but it's always been highly corrupt it. This is a time for us, as believers, to be praying more, to be in God's word, to to be ready to mate, to meet our Savior in the air. The technology that is is already in place is exactly what the Bible said would be used to run the world government. Nobody knows the day of the hour. But, like Jesus said, how can to the to the Jewish rat leaders, how can how can you say this guy is read and predict the future? But yeah, you, you you're missing me, the son of God, the Messiah that's here. Well, let's not. Let's not be let's not miss what's going on, because we've been given the word of God, we've been given the Holy Spirit, but we also are to live in faith, not in fear. So let's be aware, so we can have confidence that Jesus is coming back soon and not get caught off guard like a lot of people are going to. And it's it talks about in the end that in Second Timothy One through five, understand this in the last days, that there's going to come difficult times and people are going to be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful and holy and heartless and pleasable, slanderous, without self control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, woolling with conceit, lovers of pleasure but rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godlingness but denying its power. Avoid such people, because Daniel twelve four told us in the Old Testament God speaking to Daniel. But you, Daniel, this book about the history with about the future, shut it and seal it until the end of the age, till the till the time of the end, and at that point many people are going to be running all over the place as knowledge increases exponentially. So let's be aware. But Jesus is coming and there's nothing more glorious than to be absent from this to King Body and to be present with the Lord. So let's I'm excited, but I'm only excited because I'm I'm in the word today. I'm not excited when I write my political articles, which I do for a living, because everything is going south from a secular sense. But we're not secular people, we are aliens passing through and it is like being on a roller coaster that's really bumpy and it's pulling people's necks out, but you get off eventually, and that is will we get to do, and we get back into God's presence and we restore our minds and takes our captives, our thoughts captive. Why is this important? Because in First John To fifteen, John wrote Christ followers do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in him. If you love the world to the point that God is not priority if you have replaced like the like the progressive of progressives have done in the world, because they're based off of either Darwinian evolution or just postmodernism, where there's No God. If, if things or government has replaced God, then you have a problem with the creator. So John Reminded the Young Church do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in him. Verse Sixteen, Verse, John To Sixteen, good verse to memorize for all that is in the world, the desires of the flesh, the desires of what you see with your eyes and the pride of life, those desires are not from God, but they're from the world. WHO's the father of this world? The Devil, member Matthew Four eight again, the devil took Jesus to a very high mountain and show them all the kingdoms of the world and their glory, and he said, if you, if, if you bow down and worship me, because Lucifer is the king of this world until Jesus reclaims it. He actually had the right to ask for worship, but not to the creator of the universe, who said the Bible said, God's Word says, Lucifer, get away from me. Romans to twelve two. Do not be conformed of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you'll be able to test and approve what is good, pleasing and perfect, the perfect will of God. So I'm encouraging you today. Then we'll get to this, to our chapter here. Praise God, thank God, ask God to to intervene when we've been mistreated. Justice as mine, vengeances mind say at the Lord and don't be part of this world system, because if you get pulled into it, then you're going to be blindsided by what's about to come. I believe. All Right, genesis twenty two, this one, this one is it's a it's a profound chapter in what God is going to ask Isaac to do. I'm sorry, Abraham to do so. Try to picture this. Abraham did not have the pleasure of hearing you have a son named Isaac until he was a hundred. Sarah I, who became Sarah, who had her one child, did not have that child until she was ninety, as Isaac's getting older. Then obviously the love relationship with the children, with the son, and his mom and dad is growing and God is speaking to Abraham at this point. Remember, he had Abraham take some animals, cut him in a half, walked through. He established her covenant while Abraham was sleeping and said, hey, while you're sleeping, I establish a covenant. You're going to be the father of many nations. So Abraham's been speaking with God. But then the unthinkable is going to be asked, and we're when we go through this chapter, and we'll do it pretty quickly here. Couple things I want you to keep in mind. What if it was you? What would you do compared to what Abraham does? And in the end you're going to see that God used Abraham's faith to try to try to symbolically help us understand what it the the amount of faith that he had, because God eventually will send his own son, but he'll actually have him killed on a cross. So here we go. It said some time later God tested Abraham and said to him, Abraham, remember, God's talking to Abraham. It's always I have a blessing for you. Go here, do this. So Abraham's like here, I am Lord, and God said to God said to him verse two, Take Your Son. Now listen to this, your only son. Wait a minute. At Thatt, Ishmael was his son. No, Ishmael was born to a slave woman who, because of their lack of faith, he married and had a son. But that that wasn't God's, that wasn't God's perfect will. God allowed that any used Ishmael to start Islam. But he said then, God said, take your son, your only son Whom you love, Isaac, and go to the mountain region of Mariah, and I want you to sacrifice him as a burnt offering on the out and I will show you. What do you do if you're in a position? Well, look at Abraham does early the next morning. Not, not, I don't do this, I don't do this. And in the late evening he finally got around to it. Early in the next morning, Abraham got up, loaded up his donkey, took him with him too, of his servants and his son, Isaac, and when they had cut enough wood for the burnt offering. Remember, he's planting on sacrificing his son that he had when he was a hundred, against what he knows of God's nature, that that would be a pagan, demonic thing to do. But he's, by faith doing this and I'll and you'll figure out why here in a second. I believe he set out for the place God had told him about, and on the third day Abraham looked up to the place in the distance and he said to a servant, stay here with the donkey. Well, I and the boy go over there now, listen to this, we will worship then we will come back to you. How. Why do I believe that Abraham was able to do this? Because I believed somehow God was going to restore, resurrect, bring Isaac backt to wholeness, because he had promised him that through his lineage, through Isaac, the world would be populated. That wouldn't be possible if Isaac was sacrificed. At this point, when we get over to the comparison to what Jesus did, what what Jesus is sacrifice? How that parallels this. It says in Romans a thirty one, he who do not he who did not spare his own son, that's Jesus, but gave him up for all of us. Will he not also, with him, graciously give us all things? John Sixteen? For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that he he had. His son was sacrificed because God loved the world. For the world Romans ten, we were reconciled to God through the death of his son ver sewn four, nine and ten. God sent his only son. He loved US and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins, or the blood sacrifice. But see, Abraham was asked to do something, but because he had a relationship with God and because he believed in the promises of God, he didn't argue with God. He just said, well, you are immutable, you don't change, which I always forget to mention this. I have a t shirt for our podcast, God's not progressive, g NP dot world, because God doesn't change. G N P DOT world. I love it. I wear it all the time. But he thought, well, God's going to have to restore him. So that that was in genesis twenty two five. So Abraham took the wood and the burnt offering and placed it on his son and carried and he himself carried the fire and the knife and the two of them went and Isaac, Isaac, spoke up and said Hey, father, yes, my son, we have the fire, we have the wood. Where's the lamb? Mount Mariah is where Jesus was sacrificed. So here's what Abraham answered. God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, and the two of them went on together. God will himself provide a sacrifice. So when they reached the place where God had told him, God maybraham built an altar there, arranged the wood on it, and then he he bound Isaac and laid on the altar on top of the wood. Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called out and said Abraham, Abraham. Abraham had the knife ready to do what God had told him, because by faith, God was going to have to somehow fix it. And Abraham said here I am. He said, don't do it, do not let your hand on the boy. You said, do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son, verse thirteen. Abraham looked up and they're in the thicket. He saw the Aram. So God provided a Ram when over sacrificed it instead of a son. So Abraham called that place to God will provide Jehovah Jira, and on this day he and to this day, it is said on the mountain the Lord will provide, and I believe this is Jesus. The Angel of the Lord called Abraham from heaven a second time. It said, I swear by myself declare as the Lord that because you've done this and I'm not witheld your son, your only son, I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in this guy, in the sands, on the seashore, your descendants will take possession of cities of their enemies and through your offspring, all nations of the earth will be blessed because you have obeyed me. Then Abraham returned to a servants and they set off together from Bathsheba. Seven wells in Abraham state in Bersheba. So what do we take from this? Abrahmham Abraham had a relationship with God. We have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Scriptures say that God took pleasure to crush his son on the cross, that Jesus was a propitiation for our sins, and God will love the world that he sent his son to be sacrificed to redeem the elect and Abraham was asked, you know me and you know I'm going to establish you and I'm going to build I'm going to use you to build the nations of the world. So I want you to go by faith and sacrifice your son to me, because I am above everything. But God had no intention of letting Abraham sacrifice his son, because that's what pagans do. It was symbolism for what Jesus actually went through and did, and Abraham was blessed because of his faith. It's a profound story, but it's beautiful when you look at the salvation that we have through our faith in the finished work on the Cross of Jesus Christ. You know, the longer I live, the more I look at the situations that we go through and I look at the consistencies and the issues that we deal with as humans, and frequently it is it is our individual walk. Each have our own walk with the Lord. But there's these, there's these, there's the things that God sets in front of us to do before we were even created. Good works been and then a lot of the things we go through. It is just life. It's our flesh, it's the world's flesh. It's this demonic world and it's testing for us. God doesn't tempt us, but by our own evil thoughts and actions we get let away sometimes, but then the Holy Spirit brings us back onto line. So praise be to God that we have this story here, that we sit. We can see what that Abraham, by faith, did what God asked in God was faithful to do what he promised, and may we be like that. First, John's telling us to not love the world. Two more, two more thoughts here and then we'll finish. Get these are important. Do you know people that claim to be Christians but they don't live? They don't live like it at all. Do you know people that you might see on TV that are Promising Prosperity Gospel, that God want you to be rich and if you would sow your seat of faith and send them five hundred bucks, God will give you a tenfold? Have you seen those people? Have you send people that are like, yeah, I am pro lgbtq, ABC one, two three, but then they say that I'm a I'm a Christ swaller. This is this is a very direct warning from Jesus Christ to the world, Matthew. Twenty one through twenty three, not everyone who says to me, Lord Lord, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. These are people that were going to be talking about in these couple verses that think they're Christians or they think that they understand how God works, or they were told this is how you go to heaven. But not everyone who says to me, Lord Lord, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but the one who does the will of my father, who is in heaven. They will verse twenty two, one of the most horrific scenes the mankind can imagine, on the Judgment Day, the Great White Throne Judgment. On that day, many will say to me, because you have to give an account to God before your sentence to hell. Many will say to me, Lord Lord, did we not prophesying your name and cast out demons in your name and do mighty works in your name? These are the ex these are the people that did like the supernatural gifts. What about the person? It's like, well, you know, I went forward at a billy Graham thing and yeah, I look at porn all day and I'm lying and cheating and I am no compulsion to repent, but on that day many you will send me. Lord. Lord, didn't we prop sign your name, cast out demons in your name and do many mighty works in your names? And Jesus said in Verse Twenty Three, then I will declare to them two people who thought they were going to heaven by their own methods. I never knew you. Depart from me, you workers of lawlessness. True Christ followers hate sin, they make much of Jesus, they love the word of God, they love people for Christ. That is our purpose on life, is to make much of Jesus, for the glory of God, the Father, and to share the Gospel. That's it. Jesus said in Matthew that if you don't love me more than your mother, your father, your brothers, your sisters, your wife, if you don't love me more than the world, then you're not worthy of me. He said. If you, if that, you must pick up a your cross daily, which is you must die to yourself daily. Pick up your cross daily and follow me if you're a true believer. The Bible calls true believers do loss for slaves, voluntary slaves that wants to stay with the muster because he knows best and he provides everything that we need. So I just want to encourage you with this. Don't be deceived. If you're listening or if you're talking to somebody, tell him what Jesus said as a warning, not as a judgment on the person you're talking to, because we don't know the hearts of people. We only know their fruits that they display. We don't know, because we're all we've all fallen short of the glory of God, we've all sinned. But this is this direct as Jesus could have been to the world. Not. You may believe that you believed in me, you may have thought that you did good works because I approved to you, but I don't know who you are, thus your judge for eternity. So let's not let don't let that happen. And Way do that, as you don't love the world or anything in the world, the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, of the pride of life. Remember, Romans twelve too, do not be conformed to this world. We should be different then the world. If we're exactly like the world, same movie, same speech, same everything, we're not lights and maybe we're not saved so we got to beat we have to make sure that we hate sin, and we do that because we love God. Second Corinthian, six thirteen through fifteen. A lot of Christians are getting pulled into this. I did a podcast on it. Second Corinthians, six thirteen through fifteen. Now in the same way, in exchange, I'm speaking as to children. Open wide your hearts to us you as well. Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. Does it say try not to be? No, says don't be. For What do righteousness and lawlessness share together? Or what does light have in common with darkness? Or what harmony does Christ have with below or the pagan demonic deity that doesn't exist as a statue? And what does a believer share with an unbeliever? What's God? God's plan for us is that we would not be attached to the world, but because our need to be liked and wanting to be included, we are. We this is a battle because the world is carnal. It's father is the devil, but if we want to please our father and live lives that make much of him, we have to make choices. It doesn't say to hate sinful people, says don't be yoked with them. What that means is in the those are grarian cultures. They would have maybe a couple big oxen and they would put these wooden yokes around them and there'd be two of them and they would pull, presumably equally, which to keep the line straight, and they could plow because they were the same, same everything sighs pretty much strength. But when you when you are, if you yoke up with unbelievers, then you you're trying to be pulling, empowered by the Holy Spirit for the glory of God, and they're trying to pull you a totally different direction. And the next thing you have is chaos because the the unbelievers headed toward hell and everything they do is going to lead toward that path. And we don't want to be like that. We want to be set apart, we want to be taking people to glory. We don't want to be taking people to hell. We would raise himself up on the third day and then he would appear to five hundred people for the purpose of when he ascended, he would say, I'm going to the right hand of the father as your great high priest, like you guys, going to learn and Hebrews once and for all because I love you. But while he was in the Earth he spoke more about hell than heaven, because the flesh doesn't want God.
