It's Monday, a March Twenty Verse Two Thousand and Twenty Two. This would be one of our longer podcast we're going to choose a topic and break it down. As with all the PODCASTS that I do here on Christian talk, they're all centered around God. They're all centered around the one God in three distinct personalities, the father, Jesus Christ, the son and the Holy Spirit. But on today's podcast we're going to answer the question that people ask all the time. Who is God? From the beginning, when Lucifer in the garden challenged what God had told them, our flesh, as those born into Adam, have challenged what God had commanded of his creatures. So there has been disobedience, there's been jealousy. If you remember Kanan Abel, if you remember that, not long into human history was the heart of man wicked all day and all night, universally, everywhere except for Noah, his wife and his and his sons and their wives. Besides that, the entire world was constantly thinking and doing evil. There's attributes about God that we're going to go over, but let's start this way. There's only one God. His name is Yahweh. He was before ever anything existed. He is the existing one. He is the Alpha, the Omega, the beginning, the end, the first and the last. There's never been a god before him. They'll never be another God besides him. So the Bible describes. God is an all powerful creator of the universe. The Lord is one three divine persons, the father, son, Holy Spirit. He's holy, he's just, he's loving, long suffering, judge, righteous, trustworthy, and he alone is our salvation. First John Five says this is a message that we have heard from him and declare to you that God and is light in him. There is no darkness at all when you go through the Bible, especially when you get, like to the psalms with David Fitty, for for surely God is my help, the Lord is the one who sustained me. In Second Samuel, two thousand thirty two, it says, for who is God, besides Yah Way? Who is the rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a dear Andy enables me to stand on the heights. EXITU is fifty, fifteen eleven. Who is like you, oh Lord, amongst the small Geez God's, the false gods, who is like you, majestic and holiness, awesome and glorious deeds, doing wonders? Birse Timothy? Seventeen to the king of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God be honor and glory forever. Amen. Remember over exodus, when God is telling Moses to go, tell Farah to let the people go. It says in chapter three, thirteen through fourteen, Moses said to God, suppose I go to the Israelites and I say to them the God of your father says, sent me to you, and they asked me what is his name? Who is God? Then? What should I tell them? God said to Moses, I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites. I am has sent me to you. From what I can see, I am means as the I am what you need me to be, as God. I have a book here the names of God, Yahwah, Jehovah. Else should I Jehovah, Jirah, God that heals, God that is a warrior, God that saves, God Almighty. There's several, there's names, but God is. God is everything. God is. Will get to the attributes in a second, but he is what you need him to be and he does for you and for everyone what he deems to be best, that his will would be accomplished for his glory. According to the council, have his own will. He counsels within himself. He does not get counsel from anybody, and he doesn't change. He's immutable. Mica, three, Malachai, three six for I the Lord, do not change. Therefore, you, O Children of Jacob, are not consumed. In other words, God's will, God's promises, God's election doesn't change. Have you not known, have you not heard, that the Lord is the everlasting God, he's the creator of the ends of the Earth. He does not faint or grow wary. His understanding is unsearchable. There's one God. He's not all a, he's not Buddha, he's not this enlightenment of Harry Krishna, Christian Science. He's not the God of Mormonism, Jehovah Witnesses. There's one God, and it says in John for twenty four, the God is spirit. Remember, he's an unapproachable light and his worshippers much worship him and spirit and in truth, numbers twenty three. Nineteen talks about the nature of God, that God is not human, that he should not lie like a human being, that he should not that he should change his mind because he's emotional wreck like humans. Does he speak and act not know? Does he promise and not fulfill? Those are rhetorical questions. Of course he does. Psalm eighty three or eighteen thirty. As for God, his way is perfect. The Lord's Word is flawless. He shields all those who take refuge in him and on Psom Fifty Six and the Heavens proclaim his righteousness, for he is a god of justice. So here are some of the attributes of God. I'm just feeling in the some of the God's ways are not our ways. God is Creator, we are creatures. We are not worthy, in our sin nature, to be saved. We're not so special that this holy, omnipotent, omniscient, all powerful, everlasting God gains anything from us. And this is the mystery of the Gospel, when we get to it. Some attributes of God. God Is Holy, imperfect, he's righteous and pure. He is also that a just judge who will rightly judge the world. Yet in man's wickedness, God made a way for him to be right with him. God made a way for sinful man to have fellowship with him, and that was through the sacrifice of his holy son Jesus Christ, as son of God, De on me four hundred and twenty four. For the Lord, your God is a consuming fire. A Jealous God did on me thirty one. For the Lord, your God is a merciful God. He will not abandon you or forget the covenant with your forefathers, which he confirmed to them by an oath. Second Chronicles three nine. If you return to the Lord, then you and your brothers and children will be shown compassion by their captors and will be brought back to land. For Your God is glorious, Gracious and Compassionate. You will not turn his face from you if you return to him. In Psalm fifty six, we did that one earlier. The Heavens proclaim the righteousness, for God himself is judge say Lah. So the God in the Old Testament had establishes. He established a covenant with a group of people, Hebrews, which then, through his sovereignty, guides them to be the nation of Israel, the Jewish race. And what happens is God gives them the law, says this is how you're going to be different than everybody else in the world, because I'm going to be your God and you're going to be my people. Well, because of the sin nature of Man, they kept falling and their harder their hearts would hearden. So God would use pagan nations to judge them. But he established a Covenany, is covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Any. He cannot break, he doesn't change. So He's maintained as covenant with Israel, even though they even today, when you go over there, primarily or a paganation, because the Jews rejected their messiahs. So Israel is still living as pagans waiting for their messiah to come. So they they pressured the Romans to kill their Messiah, which they did because Israel did not did not have the authority, because they were occupied by Rome, to kill somebody without Roman authority. So that's to God in the Old Testament. In the New Testament, Jesus, after foreigner years of silence, fulfilled hundreds of scriptures by being born in a small town called Bethlehem through a virgin. Her name is Mary, and there was a star and we all know the Nativity scene. But basically the son of God chose to humble himself, like it's set in Philippians two, which is the same mindset that you and I are supposed to have. Verse One of Chapter Two, Philippians two. This Paul. Writing to the church, therefore, if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, that make my joy complete. Being like minded, having the same love, being in one spirit, in one mind, do not do anything out of selfish ambition or vain conceit rather than humility. Value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interest, but each of you to the interest of others. In your relationships with one another. Have the same mindset that was in Christ, Jesus. This is Jesus as mindset when he, before anything existed, determined to be born in sin, in flesh, to actually be born like us. It says in verse six, Jesus, being in the very nature God, will Jesus never claimed to be God. Well, the Bible does all over, and he did. He accepted worship. He said, if you see me things, we've seen the me. You've seen the father from him, the father of one. Over the several verses. But here who being in the very nature God, he did not consider equality with God, something that he should take advantage of for a season. Rather, Jesus made himself nothing, taking on the very nature of a servants, being made in human likeness and being found in appearance as a man. He humbled himself by becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross. Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that it ever, that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus, every niche should bowe and in heaven and on Earth and in Hell, and every tongue knowledge that Jesus Christ's Lord, to the glory of God, the Father. We are to be humble as creatures, as beings created by God. So who is God? One God. There shall never be another God. There's No God besides him. This God decided that he was going to create the heavens and the earth, he was going to populate it and he was going to, out of the dust, create man and woman in the purpose of US existing as human, as humans as that, out of the elect from all the people that will ever exist, those who were called out died, who died in Christ built the eternal bride. We are the bride of Christ, we are the church. We are the called out ones eclelessia. We Are we are those who have exalted Jesus Christ to Lordship in our lives. And the reason why God can have fellowship with us as because his son died on a cross after living a sinless, perfect life. As our great high priest. He he allowed himself to go through an I legal trial, put on a cross, on the cross, he was in control because that was his plan, and he told one of the thieves on one of his sides that said, Hey, I now believe I've been up here with you for three hours. I believe the other one was mocking him. Still he said, remember me, Jesus, he said today you'll be with me in paradise. After six hours he looked up and told the father, after saying my God, my God, why you were for Saken me? When the moment that he absorbed all the sin of all humanity and all a history, and when he absorbed at any conquered it, he said to tell us time. It is finished, and he gave up his spirit. The bail torn in the temple her shaking darkness, and then they took him down and they buried him. But after three days he came back up, because it said he went to the under the earth. He went down and and he spoke to those in Abraham's bows, of I believe, those that were in hell waiting judgment, those were in holding like Abraham, waiting to rise with him. After three days and fulfillment of the Scriptures, he rose from the dead and he conquered death. So God is infinite, he is self existing, he is without origin. When I go through these attributes, they humble me. I pray they humble you too when you look at the world, because it says in First John, do not love the world or the things of the world, the pride of life, the Flash, the eyes, they're not of God. Humans, because of the pride, our pride, and in the flesh and the eyes, our bodies, in our flesh and our carnal nature, wants to live like there's No God and we can just do whatever we want. But says in clausans one hundred and seventeen, and he is before all things, talking about Jesus, he's before all things, he wasn't created, and in then and in him all things hold together. Psalm one hundred and forty seven five. Great is our Lord and abundant in power. His understanding is beyond measure. There's a quote from toes are. Here there's a man of God says. The fact that God is self existent, that he was created by nothing, as and as always exist it forever, is perhaps one of the hardest attributes for the believer to understand. In Our limitness. Grasping the nature of the limit less God is like holding onto water as it rages down in a river. Tosa writes about this confusing, head spinning attribute of God's infinity. Quote to admit that there is one God lies beyond us, who exist outside all of our categories, who will not be dismissed by a name, who will not appear before the bar of our reason nor submit to our curious inquiries. This requires a great deal of humility, more than most of US possess, so that we face by thinking God down to our level, or at least down to where we can manage him. Dr Jean Rogers, who's what the Lord, also wrote an article in Christianitycom about the existence, self existence of God. The name Jehovah's you, six thousand eight or in times. In the Bible. It is the Personal Covenant Name of God's Israel's God. In the King James Version the Bible it's translated Lord God, not only because it speaks of God's strength, but it also speaks of the sovereignty of God and the goodness of God. The root of his name means self existing, member. I am that, I am one who never came into being, one who will always be. When Moses ask God, who shall i Tell Pharaoh Sammy, God said I am that. I am or Jehovah Yahwei is the most intensely sacred name to Jewish cribes and many will not even pronounce the name. Impossible. They use another. So God is infinite, self existing without origin. So you that a sentence of Jacob are not destroyed. It's because Jesus Christ is what. He's the same yesterday and to day and forever. then. Neither angels or demons, need things present or future, nor powers or height, nor death or anything else in all creation can separate us from the love of God. He doesn't change. Nothing. Can separate us from God. When you look at the false religions, they they're Gods Little Gee. Don't have these attributes. They're not love, they're not holy, they're not the only one, they're not self sufficient, they're not outside of of the needs of humanity. They can be known. God is self sufficient. He has no needs. Twenty John, twenty six, whereas the father has life in himself, so he has granted the son also to have life in himself. Because God is self sufficient, we can go to him to satisfy all of our needs, because we never have to worry about God drying up his never ending goodness, grace and mercy in peace. See God, God doesn't he self sufficient, he doesn't have needs, he doesn't need to go reach charge. But do we not go? Now to him who's able to do immeasurably more then all we can ask or imagine according to his power, that is work within us. So again the attributes. God is infinite, self existing without origin. I'm like a all of these are in one person. He's all powerful. As with this means, by the word in Psalm thirty three six, by the word of the Lord, the heavens were made their starry host by the breath of God's mouth. Did you ever trip on that one? In Genesis one, in the beginning, God created the heavens in the earth, that is, creating everything we know, starting with no materials to build with. He made the starry host just by speaking it. Quote. Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? They are higher than the heavens, above what can you do? They are deeper than the ups below. What can you know? Their measure is longer than the Earth and wider than the sea. If he comes along and can find you in prison and convene a court, who can oppose him? Surely he recognizes deceivers and when he sees evil, does he not take note? On Quote Job Eleven, seven through eleven, omnipotent means to have unlimited power. Omni is all potent, is powerful. So God is all powerful. He's able and powerful to do anything he wills without any effort on his part. This is important to know, because anything he wills, that's part of the statement. Is because God doesn't do anything that's contradictory or contrary to his nature. Hebrews six hundred and eighteen puts the puts it this way. God didn't. God did did this. So by two unchangeable things in which is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. Anything he wills and God doesn't lie. You can't lie. Why is this important? Because you may be going through things in your life were like, oh, man, I don't know if I can get out of this. I don't know where God is. I need help. I feel depressed. So the question that you've heard probably asked and you may have asked it yourself, but I'll ask you again if you are feeling that way. How big is your God? And when we go back to the prophecy, back in I think it was three chapters before then, he was eighteen genesis. He said there's no there's nothing impossible with God, because Sarah said in Abraham said we can't have children at this age. And I believe it was Jesus pre incarnate telling Abraham there's nothing impossible with God. This is not a big deal, Abraham, for me to have your wife get pregnant at eighty nine, it's not a big deal. So God is omniscient, he's all knowing. You cannot get anything by on God. He God is never asking for helping on figuring out a question and he doesn't change because we think we're smarter than him. Isaiah, forty six, nine through ten. Remember the former things, those of long ago. I am God and there is no other. I am God and there is unlike me. I make known the ends, from the beginning, from ancient times. Who is still to come? I say my purpose will stand and I will do all that I please. So God is all knowing, God is Omni present. He's everywhere all the time. Psalm one hundred and thirty nine, seven through ten. Where can I go from your spirit, David, saying God, where can I go from you? Where can I flee from your presence? If I send to heaven, then you're up there, and then if I make my bed down in hell, then you're down there. And if I take the wings of the dawn and if I dwell to the remotest parts of the sea, even there, your hand will lead me, in your right hand. Will they hold of me? Jeremi twenty three, twenty three through twenty four, am I not? Am I a God at hand, clears a Lord, and not a god of a far? Can a man hide himself in secret places that I cannot see him? Declares a Lord? Do I not feel heaven and earth? Those are obviously rhetorical of court you. You cannot get away from God because he's omnipresent. God is wise, he's full of perfect, unchanging wisdom. Again, Romans thirty three. Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God. How unsearchable are his judgments and unfathomable his ways? God is faithful. He's infinitely, unchangingly true. deteronomy seven nine. Know, therefore, that the Lord, your God, is God. He is faithful, a faithful God, keeping as covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments. You notice that little caveaut there will. God loves everybody. He would never sends o moon to hell. No, God established us a covenant with the elect and the people that believe, and he'll is P will keep this covenant. Is Promise he made to those who are his children for thousands of generations. Second Timothy Treat one hundred and thirteen. If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself to God is faithful. We're not faithful. See, God has to compensate for us. God is good, unchangeably kind and full of good will. Psalm thirty four eight. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good. God is just. He is infinitely unchangeably right and perfect, and all that he does Deuteronomy thirty two for the Rock. His work is perfect, for all his ways are just. A God of faithfulness and without injustice, righteous and upright he is. He God is Merciful. He's infinitely unchangeably compassionate and kind. Romans N Fifteen through sixteen. I will have mercy on whom I have had mercy, says God speaking, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion. So then it does not depend on man who wills or the man who runs, but on God, who has mercy. God Is Gracious, God is loving. God Is Holy. Revelation for eight. Holy. This is the angels around a throne of God. Holy, Holy, holy is the Lord, Almighty revelation for eight. The Word Holy Means Sacred, set apart. Reverend Divine John MacArthur wrote about this and God's holiness. Quote. Of all the attributes of God, holiness is the one that is most uniquely, the most uniquely describes God and in reality it is summation of all of his other attributes. The Word Holiness refers to his separateness, is otherness. The fact that he is unlike any other being. It indicates a complete and infinite perfection. Holiness is the attribute of God that binds all the others together. Unquote. In God is glorious, infinitely beautiful and great. So those are the attribute to God. There's only one. We're going to go over some scriptures here, then we're going to go over the Gospel and then I'll I'll close it up for us. But hopefully you're getting out of this so far. You're getting the uniqueness, you're getting the the awesomeness of God. There's only one and I'm going to go through some scriptures here. Remember, the Bible says of itself, he prestfo twelve, that the word of God is living in powerful and sharper than any double edged sword, piercing evening of the soul, in the spirit of the joints in the morrow. It's a discerner of the a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. So God's word, which was written by a forty authors on three continents over fifteen hundred years, shepherds to kings and everything in between, says this. And Isaiah forty four six. The Lord is Israel's King and defender. He is the Lord of the armies. This is what the Lord says. I am the first, I am the last. There is no god except me. Revelation one, you'll see the same thing. I am the Alpha, the Omega, the beginning, the end, the first and last. There's only one God and there is none except himself. DETERONOMY thirty five, Unto Thee. It is showed that thou mayest know that the Lord He is God and there is no one, none else besides him. First Kings eight sixty, that all the peoples of the Earth May know that the Lord is God, there is no other. James to Nineteen. You believe God is one, and you do well. Even the demons believe that and they shudder. Verse Timothy Two, five to six, where there is one God and there's one mediator between God and Man, the man Christ, Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has been witnessed to all at the proper time. Isaiah, forty three eleven. I am the Lord there, and besides me there is no savior. First Corinthians eight six. Yet for us there is one God, the father from whom all things are and whom we exist in one Lord, Jesus Christ, who things, who think all things are, and through whom we exist. So there's one God, is Yahweh is nothing to do with other religions because they're fake, they're not real. And Isaiah, God is mocking those who make the out. They used to make poles in the idols would for the false gods. And he said, how is it? The people who want to make up their own gods will take a piece of stick, they will hewn or they will they will carve out a god and they put it down and worship it and then the rest of the stick they throw on the fire for warmth. The folly of it. But there's passages and passages all over, first kings, eight hundred and sixty, that all the people the Earth May know that the Lord is God and that there is now other. All over the Bible, one God period. So what does that mean for us? We all those attributes of God, holy, perfect, glorious, omnipresent, all powerful, create, creator of all things. There's there's only one. There shall never be another. Here is the good news about this God. Before, and we went over this in Phlippians before he said in the beginning, he had already laid out to salvation plan for those that he would call in, those who would come to faith. Ephesians one, eleven at twelve says this. In God, we are in Jesus Christ. We were also chosen as God's own, having been predestined according to the plan of God, who works out everything by the counsel of his own will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, would be for the praise of his glory. So in him that were chosen as God's own. He predestined US according to the plan of him who works out everything by the council of his own will. When God calls us and we answer and we believe them, we're saved. And then we're saved. Then he keeps us until our day of redemption, our glorification, and nothing can snatch us out of God's hand. The problem with mankind is universally we are at war with God because the father of this world, the devil, and his angels lead people astray. And but it says that they're not tempted. Man Kinds not tempted by God. No, they're tempted by their own evil flesh and desires. That's what draws them. That's what that's what draws people away, by our own desires. Isaiah for two six says that, for he chose us in him before the creation the world, to be homely, home holy and blameless in his sight. Letdy do that again, getting tired here. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world, to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us to adoption, to sonship through Jesus Christ rice, in accordance to his pleasure and will, to the praise of his glorious grace, which has really given to the ones that he loves. If you feel God calling you, if you're listening to this, you're not a believer, then praise the Lord. You need to humble yourself and allow God to save you. And you're saved by your faith, but not because of anything you're you've done or can do to be saved by faith. James to Nineteen, we went over this. You believe in God. Will Demons believe in God? Bessy, they're not saved. You can be saved by simply confessing the Jesus is Lord, accepting his work on the Cross and exalting him to Lord in your life and making much of Jesus, and you'll be born from above. You will start to hate sin and you will be drawn to prayer and time in the word and fellowship with the Believers. Greatest position, the greatest title on Earth, is to be a child of God, not to own a big Tech Corporation or be anything else. Zeph and I, at three seventeen, said this. This will encourage him. The Lord, your God, is with you, the mighty warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you, in his love. He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. John Four hundred twenty four will finish here. God is spirit and His worshippers must worship in him, in spirit and in truth. So who is God? His name is Yahweh. He is at first in the last, the Alpha of the Omega, the beginning in the first. He is a he is unequal. He does everything according to the council of his own will, his ways or not our ways. He is not a get out of Hell Card you carry with you. He's not the big guy in this guy. He's not someone that you can use his name as a profanity and get away with it. You can't hide from him. Jesus Christ, the son of God, is the savior of the world. Those that have been called, that are saved. Here is voice, and nobody can walk away from God and nobody can snatch believers away from God. So I Jesus, said, father, those you've given me, I haven't lost to one of them. Jesus is love, Jesus is holy. Jesus lived a life as sinners, it says in Hebrews. That way he could be the high priest that understands the sufferings that humans go through, and he was tempted in all ways, but he did not sin. So he is aware of what we go through as humans, but as a sinless son of God, died on a cross, died, ministered to those that were down waiting, and then he rose, taking those with him, and the ones that were there for judgment waited for their final judgment. He then will return again, Jesus Christ and revelation nineteen. Until then, we are the bright of Christ that is forming, that is growing, and we make much of Jesus, make much of the cross. Thus we are lights of the world. In this darkness and we are salt that gets people's thirst, keeps it going for the word of God and for Salvation in Jesus Christ. The Bible's real clear about this. God's plan of Salvation to Jesus Christ takes one hundred percent of sinful man in some of them than escape judgment. Maju, a majority of the world likes and they have no desire for God. They don't come to God, and then thus they are spent eternally ince in their sin nature, with the devil and his angels in the place created for them for rejecting God in his end, in his presence in heaven. So most of the people that will ever exist will end up separated from God forever in Hell with the devil and his angels.
