On today's podcast we're going to end up over at Genesis twenty three, but before we do, especially if it's first time you're listening, we like to go through some other scriptures that stood out today as I was going through my time in the word and just thinking about Lord, what what can we what can be we be reminded of today. I did this one on the last podcast, but I think it's really encouraging for the mornings. It's a psalm five for the flutes, the Psalm of David, and pray this with David from your own heart. Give ear to my words, Old Lord, consider my sighing. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for our to you. I pray in the morning. Oh Lord, you hear my voice in the morning. I laid my request down before you and I wait in expectation. You are not a God who takes pleasure and evil with you. The wicked cannot dwell, the arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You hate all who do wrong. You destroy those who tell lies, bloodthirsty and deceitul men, the Lord of whors. But I buy your great mercy, will come into your house and reverence. I will bow down towards your Holy Temple. Now we're blast as Christians because in the new covenant we get to enter into the holy of holies anytime we want and say, Abba, Father, before Christ they had the temple is where they would meet God. But he said, but I buy your great mercy, will come into your house and reverence. I will bow down towards your great temple. Lead me a Lord in your righteousness. Because of my enemies. Make Straight your way before me. Not a word from their mouth can be trusted. Their hardest filled with destruction, their throat as an open grave. Their tongue they speak de seit. Declare them guilty, old Lord. Let their intrigues be their downfall. Banish them for their many sins where they have rebelled against you. But let all who take refuge and you be glad. Let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protections over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. For Surely, O Lord, you bless the Righteous. You surround them with favor, as with the shield Amen Psalm. I'm sorry, proverbs to stood out to me. So it's Solomon writing to a son, and he said the pursuit of wisdom brings security. My son, if you will receive my words and treasure my commandments within you, make your ear attentive to wisdom, incline your heart to understanding, for if you cry for the scernment to lift your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, he's telling a son. If you seek wisdom as you seek silber, and search for her as a hidden treasures, then you will be able to discern the fear of the Lord and discover the knowledge of God, for the Lord gives wisdom. Where do we go to get our wisdom? He presports twelve. Will get to that in a second. I'll give you a hint. The word of God. But the Lord gives wisdom from his mouth becomes knowledge and understanding. He stores up sound wisdom for the upright. He has a shield to those who walk with integrity, guarding the paths of Justice, and he preserves the ways of his godly ones. Then you will discern righteousness and justice and equity and every good course, for wisdom will enter your heart and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Not Finish this tomorrow. The point there is wisdom. James says that if we ask God for wisdom, he will give it to us. So today, reminder, ask God, don't. We don't want to get in a cycle of just oh, like in the PSALMN. Oh, Lord, you know, help me, I'm miserable. No, Lord, help me to walk on your path. Do not let me turn to the right or the left of your perfect will. Give me wisdom in my situations. Help me to have faith, to persevere for your glory. God Genesis Twenty three. This says the death of Sarah. And before we get into this, I did want to tell you Hebrews for twelve is how we can always know what we should be doing. It says, for the word of God is alive and attactive. It's sharper than any double edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing the soul and spirit joints inmorrow, and it judges this. This is a part is really jumps out of me every time I read it. The word of God is alive and it's active, but it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. It it's not just something you read and go, okay, well, that's a building block about on my knowledge, ski on my table of Knowledge. No, it's alive, it's it's, it's correcting, rebuking, exhorting, teaching, because thirteen says there's nothing in all creation that is hidden from God's sight. There was a lot to it in this one. Sarah I, who became Sarah, who was promised a son at eighty nine and had a son at ninety. She ends up dying at a hundred twenty seven. During this time traveling around, her husband almost sacrificed her son that she had at ninety. But says here that's Sarah lived up to be a hundred twenty seven years old and she died at Kirath Arbaud. That's Hebron in the land of Keenan, and Abraham warned and wept over her. Then Abraham rose from besides his dead wife and he spoke to the hit tights of the arena. Said I'm a foreigner, a sell me some property for burial side here so I can bury my dead and they said, listen to us, you're a mighty prince, bury your you're dead, in any of our choicest tombs. So none of but none of us were, refuse you. The main thing I get out of this is two things. Number One, Abraham used wisdom because he didn't know what was going to happen after he passed. If that, if that cave was given to him. This is my opinion, but when you're dealing with the world, don't trust that they're going to do what they say they're going to do. He's like, well, okay, just like you remember when Abraham told the King of Sodom. King of Sodom said, Hey, you know what you can what do you want for saving us from our captors? What money? Take everything. What do you want? He said, I don't want anything from you, because then you'll be able to say that you helped Abraham get rich, you know, or become wealthy. So I don't want anything to do with you, Pagan, Pagan, vile king. Just let the guys the food that they've eaten on the way on the journey. Let that that be to them, but I don't anything to do with you, King. Well, now here's Abraham later. Well, Hey, guys, I thank you, but I want to give you money, because then everybody knows that down the road this is mine. It wasn't a gift that can be taken back. This was a legal transaction. So that's why I believed he was insistent that God blessed him and then he acquired the cave and the property for his family, because, come to find out that the that Abraham boot he purchases about thirty seven hundred years ago, Isaac Jacob, Sarah, Rebecca and Leah. We're all buried in the same cave. So there's your there's your family. What's that Musoleum? Whatever that is, you've got it. You got pretty much the whole family in there, except for Rachel. Rachel died near Bethlehem, but she was so she's not in there. But that is what I get out of this chapter. I said, it's a pretty straightforward chapter. Just when we're dealing with people, specially dealing with the world, just use wisdom to try to make sure that you do whatever things are taking, whatever measures need to be taken to be a good steward with what the Lord has given you. And then Abraham had wisdom then to say to set his family up so they could all have a place to be buried. And that is what took place, except for Rachel, and simply because she died near, near Bethlehem, which, by the way, was a prophecy about the the the daughters of Rachel, that they would be weeping because of Herod was going to kill all the children, the boys to and under, when he was trying to kill Jesus. You know, today's been an interesting day. Then I'll close up here when you because I'm a political writer. So when you look at what's going on with the Pren court nominee, where the actually some of the main stories coming out of the out of the confirmation process, is, she won't. She won't just she won't describe what a woman is. She is defending giving light sentences to pedophiles and sex offenders. She doesn't want to explain why killing a baby at nine months is not constitution or why it is constitutional. She's really not saying anything except I am going to trust me, I will be fair, even though the speeches she gave was that the constitutions flawed, that the there's any qualities in the in the culture, in a government needs to basically be God and to fix everything. But this goes along with the news, with what's going on with to Russia, Ukraine, and we got the our government as dealing on a digital currency. And when we get toward the end of the time, many people are going to be running to and fro, people will be flogged everywhere, just going everywhere, and knowledge shall be increasing. It says in Matthew t seven that nation will rise up against nation, keendom against Keendom, and there's going to be famines and earthquakes in various places. But Jesus said, no one knows the day of the hour. I'm coming back, not the angels in Heaven, nor the son, nor the father, but first Timothy for one. This Holy Spirit expressly says that in the latter time, summer going to depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons. In Matthew Twenty four six, we're going to hear these wars and rumors, but don't be alarmed because they have to take place, but they're the increasing birth pains. And lastly, Second Timothy Three, one through five. Understand then, and these last days. So we've got earthquakes, we've got wars, but they have to build up. So we don't panic because there's a war in Ukraine or Russia. Just things are stirring, technology, people are running all over the place. But it says, understand this. In the last times there's going to be difficulty with the government's working on in this digital currency and things that the world's working on, depending upon the Lord's timing, if it, if they go into place, will be where your the physical money, will go away and then the government will basically be able to turn your money on and off apply like a social credit s court to it. Oh, you were against lgbt on facebook, so you cannot shop at these stores or whatever. So we just need to be wise what's coming. But it says unto Second Timothy Three, one through five, for people, in the end, tell me if this doesn't sound like America. Tick, talk, facebook, clicks, tweets, selfies, for people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive. Remember Blm, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self control. You see the three girls, they bore girls, hijacked lady, but she was stuck in her seatbelt, so they drug her and unfortunately she passed away, because there's no self control. There's their heartless, there's people are on holy, brutal, not loving good at treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness but denying its power, of void. Such people. So my encouragement to you is to use wisdom with the world and just because somebody says I'm a Christian, or if somebody has a good deal and they're not a Christian, then we have to think this way. Second Corinthian sixth, thirteen through fifteen. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers and on cover. I'll have a verse here in a second Jesus gave a very direct warning about people who claim to be but they're not. But do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what do righteousness and lawless and share together? What does light have in common with darkness, or what does harmony would harmony does Christ have with Belal or the Pagan World? And what does a believers share in common with an unbeliever? Jesus said, a Matthew Seven, twenty one and twenty three. Not everyone who says to me, Lord Lord, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but the one who does the will of my father, who is in heaven will. On that day, many will say to me, Lord Lord, these are people that claim to be believers. Didn't we prophesy your name and cast out demons in your name and do mighty works in your name? I mean, we're in right God. Why? Why we in this line of Judgment? Jesus said, I'll declare to them I never knew you. I never you, people that are prophesying, doing good works, casting out demons, all these things in my name. Supposedly. I don't know who you are. Away from me, you doers of iniquity. That is brutal. In the way that we ensure that we walk strong with God, the way that we know that we're born again, as we hate sin, we love God's word, we love God's people and we don't put our trusts in the world verse. John to fifteen says, do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in him. For All that is in the world the desires of your flesh, the desires of your eyes and the pride of life. Pride is not from the father, but from the world. Paul says in Romans to twelve, do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
