But just like a Sunday church service, to goal when Christians come together is to build each other up in the faith. If you don't believe in you're listening in God is speaking to you, then you respond to what God says. All I'm doing, as someone has been walking with the Lord thirty years, is going to share with you God's word, share some thoughts on what I've seen and then we'll going to pull a couple of the main points out of genesis nine. So thank you, guys, all for listening, believers or nonbelievers, or wherever you're out with your walk. The Bible is unique. The Bible is not a book of religion. It's not just well, I got my Betas and I've got the Kuran and I've got the Bible. Know, Hebrews, war twelve ties it all together. When it comes to the Bible. It says the word of God. It's alive, it's active, it's sharper than any double edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing your soul and spirit joints and morrow it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. For nothing, verse thirteen. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes of him, to whom we must give an account. The beautiful thing about the word of God, especially if you're born again in the Holy Spirit. Is Testifying, it is it is interceding for God or for us with God. It's uttering things that we don't even know how to say it. But when you are in prayer and you're in the word of God and you're asking God to guide and direct your steps and to keep you on his path, walking in Christ, then you know, at the end of the day I had a pretty good shot at doing what God wanted me to do that day, because at the end of the day you must have made much of Christ the cross, you must have loved your family and people that you have access to. You must have encouraged the church, unless you're sin in the church, and then you've got to go through this the steps of discipline, because that's how you have a healthy church. But the reason why we can do this podcast is because we all have the word of God. We all have been born again. Unless you haven't been, then hopefully, Lord willing, you will be, because when you have God's word you have everything necessary for godly living. Everything you need is in God's word. That's Hebrews war twelve and third teen says that there's nothing hidden in God's side. You know, from God's sight everything is uncovered and exposed before the eyes to whom we must give an account. This is a serious, serious issue. Anytime we talked about walking with the Lord, walking in Christ, presenting the Gospel, being lights in the in the world, the Christian faith comes from a position of humility. There's a lot of false teachers, false preachers, false churches in united in the United States of America. How can you tell? I'm not going to Belabor this because we don't have time. It's very simple. Jesus, when he was up in the upper room, he told the the disciples, Hey, guys, I'm going to go to the cross, I'm going to die and I'm going to be buried in rise in third days. I'm going to raise myself up in three days. So you have to you have to be like this. This is what it this is what it looks like to be a leader or in the church. And he took his they were the robes back then. He were the whatever you want to call it, the long robes, I guess, but he pulled it up and then he tied it around with the rope so he could move easier and he could bend over and he took a bucket of water and he started washing their feet and Peter said, oh no, Lord, there's no way you're washing my feet. And then Jesus said, well then, you have no part of me, because he was demonstrating what a servant look like. Peter said, will find then give me a bath. He said no, Peter, the feet is sufficient. The point is humility. Filippians to Paul, writing to the Philippians, said this. Therefore, if you have any encouragement for being united with Christ, in any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete, Paul said to this church he helped establish. Make my joy complete by being like minded, having the same love, being united in spirit of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit falls preachers will be popular, funny, they'll dominate to service and they won't be available for counseling because they're going to do their song and dance and then they're going to disappear, leave, find a different church. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vein conceit. Rather than humility, value others above yourself, not looking to your own interests, but each of you to the interest of others. In your relationships was one another. Had the same mindset as Jesus Christ, who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something that he could have used for his own advantage. Rather, he made himself nothing, taking on the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness and found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death, even on across. Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him a name that is above every name, that the name of Jesus every Nie should bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge of Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God, the Father. Humility is crucial. What's crucial to first John to fifteen do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the fathers not in him, for all that is in the world, the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes and the pride of life, is not from the father but from the world. And when you do that, Matthew Fourteen. Then Jesus said you are the light of the world, but then he said a city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people put a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead they set it on a stand and give light to everyone in the house. Be Available for God, be available for people in humility, and your light was so shine before men. Let's get started here in genesis nine. This is very interesting, very interesting, this chapter. Okay, this now. Remember last time they in Genesis Ay, they got off the Ark. Finally, after three hundred and seventy days, they're off the arc and then Noah takes some of the clean animals and he sacrifices them and he says that even though people's hearts are wicked from childhood, I'm never going to destroy the earth like this again. So we get to nine. It says in God blessed Noah and a son, saying to them, okay, now be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth, and the fear of dread will fall upon all beasts of the earth and on the birds of the sky and every creature that moves along in the ground, and then all the fish in the sea, everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. If you remember, if you go back to the garden beating, they only eat vegetarian they basically ate fruit and nuts. And out of the garden. Now everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you green plants, I now give you everything to eat, but in verse eight. But you must not eat meat that has lifeblood in it, so you have to drain the blood. But this is interesting right here, because this is where the death penalty gets inserted into mankind when there's only eight people on Earth. Yes, the death penalty was put in by God after the flood when everybody died except for eight people, before the law was established in written down and shared by Moses. I know some of you listening don't agree with the death penalty. Biblically, the death penalty is from God. God establishes governments in Romans Thirteen and they had they carry the Rod, they carry the discipline, the tools of discipline, to punish evildoers. Well, listen to this. This is before the Ten Commandments. This is this is when God just judged the earth. So, in verse five, it says, and for your life blood, I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand in accounting from every animal, from every human being too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being. Verse Six. Whoever sheds human blood by humans, shall their blood be shed, for in the image of God, God has God made mankind. I believe Biblically, the death penalty is a tool that God uses through governments for judgment on humans that kill people innocent. And when it says Shit, when it says humans shall shed their blood, or when human sheds human blood. The word there is it's it's murder. It's not self defense, it's not killing somebody like you driving and you accidentally kill somebody, or somebody attacks you and you punch him and they die. That's why we have second degree third degree mansaw or charges, because that's from the law and Exodus in the viticus. But if you lie in wait, says into something, the proverbs and the Psalms too, if you lie in wait for somebody, if you premeditate, if you're like Kane, where you you? You? Yeah, I I really hate able. And you kill somebody, then, according to Genesis, the eight people that were on there earth, if any of them would have killed someone else, o the eight, then the other seven would have been required to take their life, because God is the one who institutes and creates life in the womb and God is the one that also determines when you get home. And we don't have a right to be murdering people to supplant God, which he sovereign. So it's all, it's all. God is in control regardless, but we're still accountable, just like Judas betrayed Jesus, but it said, Jesus said better that he would have never been born. So yes, Judas was predestined to sell Jesus for thirty pieces of sober, but Judas did it anyway out of his own selfish desires. It says that he was stealing from the money bag. So even though it was predestined and even though he had he was going to complete his purpose, he still liked doing what he did, which was wrong. That's countability. Okay, so that's the first thing. Genesis nine, that's penalty is instituted. I know that that. Oh No, Jesus said you must forgive. No, Romans Thirteen. It's the New Testament. Paul was talking about that the government's job is to keep order and to punish evil doers individually. If, as much as it's in us, we are supposed to forgive. If someone kills one of your family members and, through God's grace and love, you're able to forgive, then that would be and you would say, I don't want them to die. That would be a compassionate request. But when it comes to the government, I believe that I don't. I don't see anything in scripture that supersedes the authority of executing capital punishment. People that have taken or have tried to supplant God on the method in the in the time of death of one of his creatures. All right, going to Belabor the point, but I think I think that's pretty straightforward right there. Then, when you go through the rest of chapter, God is talking about I'm establishing covenants with you. Know, here is a sign of the Covenant I'm making between you and the animals. Verse Thirteen, I have set walk. Shall Go back to twelve. God said, this is a sign of this covenant I'm making with Noah and in the world. I'm I have set a rainbow in the clouds and it'll be the sign of the Covenant between me and the Earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all the living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the Rainbow Appears in the clouds, I will see it remember the everlasting covenant between God and All living creatures of every kind on earth. So God said, to know of this is a sign of the Covenant I have established between me and all life on earth. The rainbow is not a symbol for sexual conduct outside of man women marriage relationship. And the fact that the that the people who participate in sexual activity, including homosexuality, they practice lesbianism whatever, is kind of foolish to me that they would. They would they look at my flag, which was established after God judge the world. But but then this rainbow said I am sovereign, but I'm not going to kill everybody next time on the earth. So here is a sign that I I can but I'm not going to. And for them to say, look in my rainbow, look at my flag, I'm participating in homosexual activity, I'm participating in lesbian activity, I'm sleeping with everything. I reject my gender because biblically there is no such thing as a homosexual or lesbian. There's people who practice homosexuality, that sex with the same gender or lesbianism. But the fact that they try to grab a flag which was used as a covenant between God and the world that he would not destroy the whole world bio flood again is profound to me. It is so it's so oblivious to the reality of God and God's law and God's sovereignty. It shows you that they're in darkness, and that's the worst position to be in in the in the whole world, is to be separated from God and not being called by God. All right, let's finish up here. You get to the end and and this is where there's a line called Nan because you got sham ham and Japeth. Ham was the father of Canaan and these were the three sons. They were scattered over the earth. Now that Noah a man of the soil, he went planet of Vineyard and he he actually got drunk. I'm hoping on accident, but he got drunk and he was naked inside of his tent and the boys found out. So Ham, the father of Canaan, just remember Ham, like like pig bilth. Ham, the Father Canaan, saw his father was naked and went and told the brothers had dad's drunk, dad's naked in there. Are you want to go see dad naked? But him and Japeth took a garment, laid it on their shoulders and they walked backwards and covered up their father's naked body. In their faces were turned away so they would not see their father's nakedness. And when Noah woke up and found out what ham had done. He said cursed be Canaan, cursed be Ham's lineage. The lowest of slaves will be his brothers. But he also said, praise be to the Lord, the God of Shem. May Canaan be the slave of SEM. May God ex extend Japist territory, may Jpeth live in the tents of Shem and make cannon be the slave of J Fiv. and Noah lived three hundred fifty years. Noah's noave the total nine hundred fifty years and then he died. So the takeaways from Genesis Nine God, I believe, installed the Jenat the the capital punishment in verse six, and then down in verse a thirteen, God established that the rainbow would be a sign between him and the earth, and in verse seventeen it was established between God and all the life on the earth that he wouldn't flood it again. The fact that people hijack that flag shows their depravity and we're going to see as we go through the Bible that Ham, Canaan and that lineage. Then we get to lot to number, are going to lot is going to get drunk and his daughters are going to sleep with them and that's going to create the MOABITES and the ammonites and create so so from here we're going to see this lineage growing. So Adam and Eve fell, Kane Killed Abel, demons entered women, the world went completely sideways, God destroyed the Earth. They're off the boat, sacrificing animals. Hey, I'm sorry, the animals are still kind of roasting up there. Not to be a kill joy here, but God says if any of US kill one another, we're supposed to kill you. And, by the way, that rainbow over there, that is a covenant that God's not going to do this again. And the next thing you know, he drinks too much wine and one of his boys is mocking him and making fun of him and looking at his naked body and because of that he is cursed. And then his Lineagen's up, forming the nations that have been against Israel and are now behind some of the largest religions in the world, including Islam, that are working to the, working against, in direct opposition to, Christianity, because Islam, Mormonism, the Jehovah witnesses, New Age Christian Science, they all have a different Jesus or Jesus Spirit in him. There's nothing, there's there's no similarities between Allah and Yahweh. Islam teaches that if you believe the Jesus was God in the flesh, that he died, was buried and he rose on the third day, that you're a heretic. The Bible says that if you rejected Jesus Christ was a son of God, came to Earth, were born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a Roman cross, died buried and wrote, risen from the dead and he conquered sin. Do you have two direct opposites? Then the Bible says your spirit of antichrist if you reject that, and the Cran says, if you believe that, that you are an apostate. So don't let people blend the religions. The Bible is unique and in Christianity is unique because there's one God, Yahweh, there's one Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And I'm going to finish with this first Timothy Three hundred and sixteen, and this, this ties it together. This is a this is a church historical saying. Reading Out of First Timothy Three hundred and sixteen, by common confession or beyond all question. The mystery from which true godliness springs is great. Jesus appeared in the flesh, was vindicated by the Holy Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world and was taken up. We went over Thomas yesterday and Thomas said, Hey, Jesus, you just said that we know where you're going and I we don't know where you're going, and he said, well, I am going. I'm going to my father, but if you've seen me, you seen my father, because I am the father or one. Jesus Christ was not a good person. Jesus Christ Rice was not a prophet, only obviously had what he spoke was prophetical. Jesus was not trying to come and bring everybody to heaven. Jesus came to conquered death, to raise from rose himself up from the dead, sit at the right hand of the father, to be the high priest for the church, the true church, his bride. And in revelation nineteen, he returns, takes back the title deed from Satan and his demonic mob and he cast in the end, after the thousand year reign, the whole thing because Jesus says in Phlippians, to every name in heaven, on Earth and below the Earth and hell bow, they bow their knee that Jesus Christ is Lord. In the end it's all everything, the newer earth, the the earth, universe, Star, everything, because there's going to be a new heaven and new earth that's going to come down. Sin, death, Satan, unbelievers, the whole Shabang is going to get cast into outer darkness. was his weeping at teeth forever, which is why we live for Christ, living under grace what Jesus did on the Cross. For us it is shockingly massive and we I james and John kept saying rejoice when you go through trials. Rejoice, or Paul said, these trials, they don't compare to the glory that's waiting for us. Whatever you're going through, you've been saved if you're a Christian. If you're not, you need to be saved because once you're saved from death, then everything you have to live for and to look forward to is for Christ's sake and for his glory. And it's going to be it's going to be unfathomable, but it's going to be glorious. That's our glorification. Pray, spend time in God's word. Ask God to show you the good works that are set before you. Love the church, be alight for the world, live peaceably, but reject sin.
