And the hard part about being in the world but not of the world is we grow up as children and we learn. If you go to public school, specially, you try to you learn skills. How do I how can I be liked? How can I buy? Can How can I be in the end? How can I not be rejected? How can I be invited to the parties, etc. But as you get older and then when you get to that moment where, if you're born again and you're listening, then you are responsive to that still small voice calling you, and then you come to faith and then all the sudden you start to hate sin, and then the people that maybe you were hanging around or they're not really compatible with you, and then there's a struggle. But some people choose even though they've heard from God and they believe, but then they're in positions where why? I don't want to lose my friends, so I'm going to tolerate some sin when I'm around them, but I'm not going to be a Jesus Freak or get religious all this sudden. Or you may be in positions like the lady that emailed me. I have a family member or friend WHO's invited me to a lesbian, quote unquote, wedding. Should I go now? I've heard both sides of the argument on this and I have to I have to say something that I don't understand why it's so controversial, but it seems to be for some people. We don't. None of us would go to a quote unquote wedding with two adulterers. We wouldn't go to a wedding with somebody on cocaine and someone who just robbed a bank. But for some reason people in America that claim to be Christians really struggle with this, this subject of homosexuality, lesbianism, transgender, Queer, whatever, whatever, whatever. And the thing is, and like John Fifteen nineteen, if you belong to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you don't belong to the world. Jesus said, I've chosen you out of the world. This is why the world hate to you. So if you've been called by Jesus Christ, if you've been born again, if the holy spirit in you builds up and confirms the word that you read and pray about and we're not up the world, then if the world likes you still, if you're not any light in the darkness to them, then you want to repent. See the American culture as it's becoming more atheistic, more pagan. There's a side of it that's weak, and so people are like. Well, you know, Love, Love, love, mushy, no microaggressions, safe spaces, everybody's happy. No one should get their feelings heard. Everything should be controlled. But that's not how the world works, because they might set that up and then the people that are lost are still going to watch the porn, they're still going to try to steal, they're going to lie, they're going to slander. So as we go through the podcast we're going to be going over that. We are what we are to be. Matthew, by fourteen through sixteen, you are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on a stand and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light so shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in heaven. Okay, well, how does that work? Well, this is how it works. If someone says, why, would like to invite you to my lesbian daughter's marriage to her girlfriend. Would you come? Well, let's see. If we're to be light, if we're not to have anything to do with darkness, if we're to not be even mentioned as being around sin. Were to abstain from it. How, how could you go with the spirit of God in you? Because it's not loving, it's not loving to go watch two people commit an abomination before God in an unnatural, unsanctioned by God, Union of marriage. Now, I'm not I obviously, I'm just another Christian brother. So you can, you can do what you what you want. I'm just telling you that the fact that you might have friends or hang around family members that are pagans, unbelievers is a problem. Second Corinthian fourteen, do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For What Partnership can righteousness have with wickedness, or what fellowship does light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and below? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? Being a Christian, a Christ follower and adopted child to God, one that's loved by the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords whose Holy Spirit intercepts for us, there's it's a remarkable position to be in, that were loved by the God that thought of you, created you, died for you, sanctifies you, intercedes for you. The world hates God. The world is at war with God. See so you can't. If we're saved under good works. The Bible says you're saved under good works that are set before you're even born and born again before you're born. Your good works are waiting for you to do so. If, if you're born again in the spirit of God is in you and you're to be a light, because you town can't be hidden. If it's on a hell and people don't take the light and hate it, well, don't what. My friends are not like me. So you're hiding, you're hiding your faith. You're ashamed of the Gospel, you're ashamed of Jesus. Paul said, I'm not ashamed of the Gospel, where it's the power of God unto salvation. For the Jews in the Greeks, life is spend time in God's word, prayer, loving people, your family, friends in the Lord and seeking to not move walk to the righter of the left, but to walk and step with the spirit and make much of Christ every day. That is a day in the Lord. That is that is that is what it means to be a Christ follower. Jesus is Lord. Good morning father, thank you Jesus for the Cross. Let me teach me in your word, Holy Spirit, bring that quick in that in my heart and help me to understand it. And let me go to work and be the best employee I can be and let me be the best husband or wife or child I can be to day, and let me maybe for Your glory and then laugh, laughing in in joy and because your joy comes from the Lord, doesn't come from the world, but then a stain from wickedness, because all it does darkness. All I can do is kind of dim your walk. You're not going to you're not going to be if you're going to try to just fade into the darkness in your walk is going to go stagnant and some people that are not really born again are going to actually fall away when it gets to don't dim, because there's no there's no fellowship between light and darkness. They're directly opposed the world of Satan and the world of God. And we struggle, like Paul said, in our flesh because we want to be with the Lord. In our spirit is born again and excited, in our flesh is wicked into cane, which is why we're told don't connect, don't be yoked, don't be in contracts with, don't go into business with unbelievers, don't date unbelievers, because there's no harmony between it. And I know people don't some people don't like what I'm saying. Oh, that's not possible, believe or not, I actually heard I heard someone to say this to me, that they were on tick tock and they said that there was, quote unquote, a Christian Tick Tock. I don't I don't know what that means, but probably like a live broadcast, and they were saying to the other people on Tick Tock. Yeah, the Bible says to abstain from sex, but in two thousand and twenty two that's not realistic. So is the command to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For What Partnership Can Righteousness have with wickedness? Is that? Is that not doable in twenty two? Of course it is. So be alite. Understand that the world hate you once they know that you're in Christ and even even Jesus when he said, Hey, father, I've given them your word, and the world has hated them, for they're not of the world now, anymore than I am of the world. I put now in there, but that's what he's saying. They're not of the world, they're born again, anymore than I am of the world. My prayer is that you don't take them out of the world so we don't get saved and we get transported out. Jesus says. I. I don't want you to take them out, which you to protect them while they're here from the evil one, because they're not of the world, even as I'm not of the world. So should you go to activities that endorse Sin Because you love somebody? That's asking you? Biblically, I say no. If you do it, then just understand that you are fellowshipping with darkness. So you were. You're walking against the instructions, in the commands of scripture, which is why I wouldn't do it. But if you do it, then you're rolling the dice, because who knows what God's going to do. Could be a a painful teaching moment for you, or you could just end up in in positions where you're uncomfortable because you hid the light instead of being the light. Joy, happiness doesn't come from people that are perishing when they're involved in sin. We want to be nice we want to be nice to people, believers, around believers. We want to laugh at work, if it's a decent, non sinful joke. You know, we want to we want to be a light. You like you, Don want to be offensive, but don't go into the darkness. Don't, don't merge sin with the Holy Spirit that is in you, because you're born again. Now. First John to fifteen. He couldn't have made a more clearer actual go to fourteen. I've written to you, fathers, because you know him, who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong in the word of God, abides in you and you have overcome the evil. One Verse Fifteen. Do not love the world or anything in the world. Let's repeat that. Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the father is not in him, for all that is in the world is what this is what he's saying. Do not love. The desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes and the pride of life is not from the father, but from the world. In Effesians Five, ten through thirteen, Paul wrote and find out what pleases the Lord. have nothing to do with fruitless deeds of darkness, rather expose is them. It is even shameful to mention what the disobedient do in secrets. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. Were not of the world. We've been saved out of the world. Were not supposed to be even mentioned. Where there is sin, we're supposed to abstain from all sin. There's no fellowship with lightwood darkness. Now, if you're if you're in a body, if you're in a church and you're in a group, if you know, if you're actually participating as a member of the church, and you are in the word of God and you truly worship and you understand that Christ is actually all we need. But if you're in the word, you're in prayer and you are seeking to do as will and you're doing as well and you're in fellowship, then your joy is can eat. You don't need the world and the darkness and the deeds of the world to somehow make you feel complete. Your complete in Jesus Christ. In Christ, we can do all things. We are all things again, we left at Ephesians ten through thirteen. Find out what pleases the Lord. Prayer, study of the word, sharing his word, being prepared to give an answer, being used by the Lord, Fellowship, being loving people as a light for the darkness so people can be drawn out. have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. Do not be connected with people who will reject Jesus Christ. It doesn't make sense if you don't understand the yoke analogy. That is the the old way of farming is you would have the Grarians, you'd have a couple oxen and you put them in these wood yokes, is what things a go around their neck. And then you have two of them and by yoking them together there they're the pretty much the same size, the same strength. They can pull evenly and neither one is having to carry the extra low. But if one's kind of drygging, then the other one has to compensate and keep the second one going because they're yoked together. If you're trying to date somebody or douce a business deal with somebody or anyone that's not saved, that means that the demonic world has access to your partner. And but I've seen as chaos will follow on this point, because I know somebody's thinking it. I'm unequally yoked and I'm married. Because if you're on unequally yoked in, you're dating, you can get out of you should leave, you you don't stay. There's no command to stay with someone you're dating. Not saying to leave, I'm telling you you're not bound to. But in marriage, if you get saved in you're married, you're supposed to stay with the unbeliever to sanctify that person so they can see your good deeds, your light, and then God, through your life, can minister to them. So if you're married, in your unequally yoked, what you do daily doesn't change. You pray, you're in the word, you're seeking God's will, you're in fellowship. The unbelieving spouse doesn't understand because they're of the world. Pray for their salvation, minister to them. If you're a husband or a wife, regardless, treat your unbelieving partner like you would want to be treated and understand that just because you become like doesn't mean they're going to want to join you. But pray, Love, love for Christ's sake. But don't say I'm Oh, I'm Christian. I'm out of here. But if you're not married, you can't be unequally yoked. Then you I would leave, but that's totally between you and the Lord. But biblically marriage you should. You're supposed to try to stay dating it doesn't ass you're just dealt with any other nonbeliever at that point in first, fifth, the first. That's Onians five and twenty two. Same thing. Twenty two. Examine everything carefully, hold fast to wet is good. Abstain. That means a void every form of evil. Should I go to a lesbian wedding? Visians five, twenty one and twenty two. Examine everything carefully and hold fast to that which is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Sexual Sin is evil. Doesn't matter how they want to just like with the pig, you put lips kick on it, that doesn't make the pig attractive. Just because someone says they're a homosexual and their partner's homosexual doesn't make it beautiful or loving or okay with God. Because God determines how sexes are created in the womb. Because he does it, he determined sexual activity, which is between a man and a woman in marriage, sanctified, blessed by God, in marriage now will finish here. Next just couple more verses. The one of the one of the tools the enemy uses against especially if you're single orfore you're alone, is fear. So in Matthew Ten, twenty six, so do not so have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed or hidden, that will not be known. Jesus speaking, so have no fear of them, for nothing is covered that will not be revealed or hidden, that will not be known. What I tell you in the dark, saying the light stocking his disciples, and what you have heard whispered proclaim on the housetops. I do not fear the body but cannot kill the soul, so do not fear those, I'm sorry, do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul, but rather fear Him who can destroy both the soul and the body in hell. In other words, Jesus says, greater is he that's in me, so greater is the Holy Spirit. It's in believers, then the demonic world, in the people of the world. So greater is he is in me, and he is in the world. Greater people that have been born from above them, people that are, have not been and are slaves to sin. So we're not to fear, we're not to fear the world, but whether we should have a reverence and fear for God, who destroys the soul and the body. So you can you I don't want to be I don't want to be called names and mistreated by people. Well, that's not what that's not really a good decision, because you actually should be more concerned about honoring God who, in his word, is going to keep you from pain and sadness. Because I see the left will, the Liberals or the whatever you want to call him, nonbelievers will tell you this. Well, you're using all the fun because you're just trying to follow a bunch of rules when you go through the word. God's Word is intended to prevent you from being hurt, from being mocked, from falling on your face. That's why I don't get drunk, don't sleep was with the the like Solomon told his son, don't go down into the hearlet's dam. Don't don't get drunk, don't it. Don't don't do hasty a financial deals, not because it want. It keeps you from keeping it's not to keep you from having fun is to keep you from destroying your lives, because sin is only for a season and then you have to reap it. It's see, it's it doesn't have to be so complicated. I've made it complicated up until I got to fifty one years of age. I had to keep it complicated because I wanted to keep doing it in my way. But Jesus basically said I am the way, John Fourteen six, I'm truth and I'm the life. You can't come to the father less, you go through me. He said, every dot and tiddle of the law has been fulfilled in me. Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of God and Romans. So fear God, which will then draw you to his love. What will then get you in the word, so then you can avoid being snared by the deeds of the world. In the last verse. We covered this on the last podcast. If you say, well, I'm a Christian, I can do those things. Yeah, I know, I you know I'm a I'm homosexual, my partner so, but but I'm a Christian. Or Yeah, I know, I steal from my boss every day and I lie all the time, but I'm a Christian. So I can mingle with everybody because I'm pretty cool. I know how to I know how to work a deal with the world and live like the I need. I knew not I have friends with the world, but I can do it to where I'm still not acting like a nonbeliever. Here's first John Two, for by this we can be sure that we have come to known Christ. If someone says, well, I'm a Christian, okay, well, this is how we know if we've kind, if we if we're born again. First John Two, for whoever says I know him but does not do what Jesus commands is a liar and the truth is not in that person. If big first John Three, two, three through five, by this we can be sure that we have come to know him if we keep his commandments. If anyone says I know them but they do not keep his commandments, he's a liar. In the truth is not in him. But if anyone keeps his word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know we are in him. So you're not of the world or to be lights of the world. We're not supposed to hide or light. We're not supposed to have be near sin. We don't want to. We want to avoid it. We don't want to be even uttered in that in the actions of people that are doing we don't even want to be bragging or talking about the sins of the unbelievers. We don't want to. We're on there were album this while. No, we don't want that's not what we do because it grieves God. The people live that way. So hopefully that answers your question for you sent it in. No, I don't think biblically you can go to activities that dishonor God, go to activities that your light is not going to be accepted, that your speech of Christ would be pearls before swine, the prey about it. It's possible you're in a Jona moment or a Daniel moment where he's going to take you in the lions then, but I'm just saying in general, scripturally our focus is to be on Christ. It's supposed to be a light in the darkness. It's supposed to be a separate from sin, to avoid it and to make much of Christ for his glory. And we are the most blessed people to be a child of God is the you cannot be in a better position in the universe then to be born again adopted into the family of God.
